Hey Broken...Go to Netwerkin.com (http://www.netwerkin.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi) and I'm sure someone there will be able to help you out. I'm affiliated with the owner of the site and have gained a lot of information by reading and asking questions there. Basically, it's a community tech site. http://www.bac-clan.com/forum/images/smilies/ubb_import/smile.gif

I have no clue actually. My suggestion is to partition your primary drive so you can test it without messing with your current OS.

I use Linux 99% of the time.
My Wolf runs in Linux ;).
Many Windos programs work by means of Wine (not exactly emulation but a translation of Windos system calls into Linux system calls).
Linux has a lot of application available so my suggestion is look for analogs of WIndos programs that you use.
For example if you use ICQ on Windos look at licq on Linux. IE analog is Mozilla which is also available for WIndos. Outlook analog is Evolution etc.
For Windos games you will most likely have to use special version of Wine - WineX (www.transgaming.com). The website has a list of games that run in WineX so check it out.
If you have other questions, ask and I'll see if I can help you.

I use SuSE Linux though I am not very good at it.
Though Wine (a windows emulator) is quite good in my opinion. I never used WineX.
Quake 3 Arena and CS just run fantastic on it. Better than on windows (faster and much less swap file use). Didn't try bz2 yet.

To get you started with apps/games you don't have on Linux: install the proggy on both the partitions. You can startup the prog by letting Wine point to the windows version of you proggie.

So if you have a game of 400 mb, you'll need 800 mb in total :)

A linux community can help you on updates on Wine (updates wich will support more windows api-calls), so more programs can run with it.

Here is a list of native games I've seen on Linux:
Doom I/II, Quake 1,2,3 and mods like Arena, Wolfenstein, UrbanTournament etc, Heretic I/II, CivCTP and SMAC, Myth 2, Heroes III, Heavy Gear II, SimSity 3000, Descent3, SoF1, Unreal, Rune, Unreal Tournament and mods, Tribes 2.
WineX runs alot of games, notably:
SoF2, JK2, CS, War3, Diablo 2, Civ3, Baldur's Gate I/II, Black and White, Max Payne.
