i think i should get athlon but i think i should get p4.
athlon heats up quickly and cost alot for many fans, athlons are made for 3d rendering. athlon is cheaper.

p4 is more stable and doesnt heat up doesnt need lot of fans.
p4 is 200 dollars more

ya, good system coolers are available on ebay very cheap, or a couple of 15 dollar fans from your local compuzone or best buy will do nicely. i think you must weigh performance versus price, and in my mind this makes athlon the clear winner...... besides it keeps dollars out of the maniacally greedy corporate monster known as intel....

yeah i am getting a comp like that at christmas, but with a raedon 9700 128mb, 1024gb ram and 120gb hdd,.
how many fans would i need for that.

be sure you have one fan at the bottom front of the comp sucking air in and the other in the back up near the power supply blowing air out, there should be a hole there for it. One up top blowing air out would be handy as well and maybe one in the side above the chip's heatsink & fan.

too many fans are gay, too much noise, frickin sounds like a UFO or something, i hate that. try to find quit fans. Get one fan your your video card, i did that, and it is awesome, better graphix, no freezing!!!! just put it on the largest heat sink there is on your video card. i thnk if you just leave the case open, you would not need to get fans, that what i do and it is nice n' cool in my case.

if amd is better than p4, why is p4 more money?

p4 is better in the long run breaking down-wise.

msi rocks :) i have msi board and msi graphics card. my mobo says in the manual that its made for oc'ing...... but saying that, i have no mobo temp setting, i had to buy a seperate device to record temps. i will be going for a new pc sometime in the new year, and i will probably go for the latest msi mobo, as their products are so user freindly.

Um Buy My Fricking Computer Dood.

LOL

Ok Go AMD save a few bucks. Put That $200.00 into a better Vid Card Radeon 9700 Pro or a Ti4200/Ti4600.

Get Vantec Stealth fans that you can jump to auto adjust to your needs and are quiet. Easy.

Get a Thermal right SLK-800 CPU heat sink fan and a Thermal (Tt) take Smartfan 2 to put on it and use the knob adjustment on the Tt fan to adjust fan speed as needed.

Get a nice ATX case with good venthilation like a Chieftech. Put 2 intake and 2 exhaust.

Get a nice juicy power supply unit (PSU) like an enermax 430 or a Vantec Stealth unit.

If noise bothers you wear headphones while gaming. Better to hear enemies anyway.

Darkmonster? Um what the hell you tallkin bout boy. English a second language?

P4 are overpriced Office App CPU's. Unless you go with the new 3.06 GHZ hyper threading Intel CPU then your paying too much for their $hit$. And it is optimized for Photoshop. Woofrickinhoo.

Dude buy the one I'm selling. :)

Im going for the Pent 4, 3.06 soooooooooooooon! I want a mean machine:)

3.06 won't give you a mean machine, just something to brag about. It's not worth the price.

First off, it's the newest thing which means you pay 3x for a couple MHz more. Second, HT is only so-so. It's simulated smp, a true dual system will always behave better. Third, most programs you use won't see large benefits. Is an extra $350 dollars really worth a few FPS more in UT and Q3?
