Hey,
My machine at home has taken to freezin up every so often for 5-10 seconds at a time... Its not normal lag, cause i get outa the freeze and i've been killed while frozen...
It just started doin that a few weeks ago, never had this prollem before, nuthin new added to machine either...
I have windows ME, 1 ghz pentium III, 512 mb RAM, cable modem...
Mebbe sum1 can help me figure it out...

Reinstall windows is one alternative.

Your problems is probally with windows ME, there was a ton on bugs.

Sounds like you are referring to BZ2 and if you are that problem also exist with my Win 98se. I used to just lock up every other minute for about 5 secs each time. To resolve the issue (since know one knew how to fix it) I reformatted. While I still have that problem it's not as much as before. I too have cable.
Just be happy that it's not an AV and it's not an issue with your cable as so man people have it and never experienced what we both are. I'm sure someone knows how to fix the problem (if it's possible) but with all the suggestions I got in the past, none of them helped much. LOL! Until then...

ME has network buggs and desktop browser buggs, but other than that u sure its not your cable service/box??

Don't use DirectX 8.1 (a),if u dun need it.

Actually this problem is caused by Invalid ActiveX entries.
These are usually produced by failed installation of apps, or just sloppy progs. The only way to fix this is to either manually edit you activeX file (I do not recommend this at all to ANYONE)
Or find a utility that does this for you.
I guarantee this will fix the prob.
