You started to play it. So tell tell tell. What happened and such? What you do? I want to know everything.

were not gonna keep this conversaton going in the 6600 gt thread? meh, oh well. um, i maxed out all my biomods, (hacking, thermal cloak, bot domination, silent moving, healing-legal way) and i'm finished in Old Cairo once i find my heli pilot lady. i was very confused with all the factions right off the bat, so i kinda just helped everyone, but i guess i went with the order/WTO now, and they've just revealed that they're illumnati. that's it for now, i'll play a lot more tonight.

Are you this far already? Did you do all the side quests? The bar, etc...

actually, when i wrote this, i was nearly finished with trier, i just didn't remember it. currently, i've gone through the black gate, and and just turning the power on before i go and revive jc denton. and yes, i've done EVERYTHING possible, except for 2 things in seattle that would have taken 2 minutes, but the mission priority canceled them out. the only trouble now is, THE GAME WON'T STAY RUNNING! every time i load it, 10 seconds later it crashes. i don't know what to do. counting these latest few, that's more than 10 times overall that it's crashed, and only 3 happened at this latest point. i thought it might be xfire talking to me and screwing it up, but it's just happening randomly now.

This game is known for its crashes to desktop. You should reload the second last gamesave then move on. Loading the very last save gives me troubles sometimes as well. Also, there is a 1.2 patch that increases the performance a bit.

Spidy

yeah, you sent it with the 1.2 patch. i got past that part, but it almost happened twice more. i think it has something to do with the game spawning new enemies, or killing them, cause that's when it happened.

as of now, i've revived JC and am in Cairo to revive/kill Paul. i seem to have been following the Illuminati so far, so i'll stick with them. i think i kill Paul. i would be doing it now, but, guess what?! the game crashed! yippee!

they made a 3rd installment of Deus Ex, but so far it's only on the PS2.

I always stayed loyal to WTO but in the end I killed them all. I regret this. I left the world in 200 year of war. Next time I'll stick with the WTO (its successor), for a cotnrolled economy.

Did you betray the Omar in the nightclub (to NG Resonance) and did you return to the night club? What happened to you? There is a catch here.

Spidy

actually, i did betray the omar in the nightclub to the ng resonance holovid, then went back to buys something from the omar. upon entering the nightclub, they said it was unacceptable that i did that and lost my favorable member status, and all prices were back up. i reloaded to before i entered the nightclub and there were no consequences. the next city they said i was still favorable member.

ok, i finished the game, held fast to the WTO/Order Illuminati, and they do great things for the world, peace reigns and everything is good. i'm gonna reload to right before the final choice and switch back and forth between everyone to get all the endings.

also, last night i looked through all the files in the game trying to find and play the ending movie without actually doing it but failed. i did, however find the Quotefiles, which are just random quotes that the techs working on the game put in for fun. there are 13 or so of them, and they are funny to read. they also contain 2 cheats, Blind and Nukeall. i don't know how to enable them, but there must be a way. no websites know of them.

Do you remember what combinations of biomods you used? i had Hacking, Bot domination, Thermal masking, Healing (legal way), and stealthed walking/falling damage reduced thing. i ended up removing hacking at the end of antarctica because i couldn't deal with the supersoldiers without have invisibility. as for the spot of their back that's supposed to be weak, it's not that great. i learned to just rocket them from a distance.

I ended with nearly $10,000, 9 illegal biomod canisters and 7 legal ones. i only "wasted" 5 canisters total. i never ran low on anything, except for ammo, once. the mag rail was dissapointingly weak, the game is extremely easy to crash at some points (which was actually noted and joked about dozens of times in the QUOTEFILES in the game folder.) i e-mailed eidos about the habitual crashing, but they probably won't care.

actually, i did betray the omar in the nightclub to the ng resonance holovid, then went back to buys something from the omar. upon entering the nightclub, they said it was unacceptable that i did that and lost my favorable member status, and all prices were back up.Yes.
The trick is that I did queequeg's task to destroy the beans of his opponent. I did that as a very last quest. Then I returned to fetch my reward. But I NEVER returned to the nightclub because I feared the consequenses, and I kept my good bargains with the Omar. But then again, I missec my $$ reward from a WTO official standing at the door (yes I scouted obviously).

As for the upgrades I switched at one moment but I never had NeuralInterface (black market). Instead I had upgraded Reconosaince Drones (to level 3) and Healing Drone (illegal biomod that leeches health from dead bodies), Stealth Walking/Reduced. Others I forgot.

Sooo, how did you like the real NG Resonance huuuuuh? Hahahahaha.

Oh by the way, I played them all. All the endings are good news, except for mine decision. But you know, they where all like power hungry and then our colleague at Cairo came up with the idea to f* them all. I agreed, since he is a simple minded person and always honest, so I felt like he was the only one making sense. I had no clue I'd threw the world in a 200 year battle where only the Omar could thrive...

The last coffee war quest I didn't do because they both had nothing to offer me. They hadn't anything to offer you as well (where you need to bribe the manager of NG Resonance).

yeah, i did the whole coffee quest, although i accidentally bribed her to help the wrong one! as for NG, i shot her. the second time, that is, when i switched to templars. i'm working on finishing the templars now, and already finished the omar one.

BTW, that's a LOT of medals for BF2! congrats.

side thought: didn't you say this game was LONGER than the average rpg? i did it in under 17 hours.

Valmont

The rest of them I do in 8 hours. So this game is longer yes. I can't help that you're so smart. Try "Myst: Uru". Buy it dammed. Worth it. Check Ebay.

I got more medals and badges, but GameSpy is blocking all traffic the last few days. There seems to be some abuse and half-commercial war going on. And I deserve much higher medals. I've got the single highest badges for teamwork (Valourious Service and Distinguished Service) but that doesn't reflect well what I do. Oh well.

dude, RPG's last like, 50+ hours. the only thing is maybe this is technically like an action RPG where as "normal" RPG's are something else. w/e. overall the game was really easy, not much of a challenge. all missions were easy, and if you have stealth and thermal masking, you can literally just walk anywhere and everywhere without being touched. i don't know what would make it harder, i can't think of much. maybe more choices for biomods would make it more interesting, at least. 15 seems like a lot, but i don't know.

i finished the game allied with JC and that was a decent ending. i know i finished it with templars, but don't remember how it ended. just gonna have to do it again. the best ending i thought was the illuminati ending, where the world is super-productive and the space station controls everything, although, by then, wouldn't you think space travel would be mastered?!!!

The problem that I have with all the factions is that they more or less force their insights to the rest of the people. That's why I killed everybody in the end.

True, the game isn't hard at all. It is simple. But what did you expect from a game targeted at 16 year old FPS players? Really - for mature players - buy Myst: Uru.

what's so great about myst? isn't that basicly just search every inch of everything till you find that stupid thing you missed to open that door thats way back over there? then do it all again?

game (http://www.ebaumsworld.com/thedoors.html) from ebaumsworld supposedly similar to myst, took forever for me to do it.

I don't think so Spidy. Logic and a great amount of healthy thinking is involved. Uru is also the one and only 3d fps like Myst series. The producer isn't the same. This one has it's own 3d engine for years and you can tell alright.
Oh the producer is Ubi Soft. I guarantee quality thinking and graphics. But note that you'll be practically all alone through out the game. But you'll have your hands full alright...

this http://www.ubi.com/US/Games/Info.aspx?pId=1042 leads to Myst 10 anniversart collection edition, with myst 1, 2(riven), and 3. $20, worth it? i'm sure it would be. 4 is out right now, and 5 coming in september. where does Uru fit into all of them???

this http://www.ubi.com/US/Games/Info.aspx?pId=1213 leads to Uru complete chronicles, which is Uru and the 2 expansions, also for $20.

The first link leads to a game with a 2D environment! All three of them offer the highest intellectual challenges (visit multiple worlds with different kind of thinking). I think these versions in your link are the high resolution versions. Myst Exile I don't like. Way too "fantasy" like, not enough logic. Not consisten or incorrect phisycs. I was one of the first to complain about it. After a week peeps followed my post and posted the same dissapointments. The first three remain of the highest standard though.

The trick is that Ubi took over. They have better game engines but didn't have the crew with the same story-line commitment.

Myst : Uru is a complete different story. When Ubi took over they implemented the storyline of the original creators, but used their very own 3D game engine. You want that. It offers stunning worlds and a challenge only worthy of serious adults. Buy this one. The expansion packs I don't care about. They are dissapointing.

Uru was a Myst-like Massive Online Role Playing Game. Peeps could solve the puzzles together online, by often working as a team. In the mean time the story keeps unfolding itself. However, this setup didn't bring enough customers so this mmorpg era ended. But to not to dissapoint the Myst freaks, they converted the setup to a single player game. The result is wonderfull.
The expansion packs are only made (for low price) to further ease the pain of the Myst fans. But the story line isn't good, and logic, consistency, healthy thinking was left for Ubi (the commercial guys) to implement. It became a dissapointment thus.

Soooo...
- Buy Uru for 3D engine. Buy this one definatly.
- Buy optionally Myst 1, 2 ,3 for 2D engine but even tougher logic/ puzzles.
- Myst 4 : Exile suxs.
- Uru Expansion packs suxs.

If it comes as a pack then buy it.
